Video: UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. Shields preview

It’s fight week again for the UFC, and Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 29 event marks the organization’s second straight show on FOX Sports 1 in Brazil.

Here’s the essential information for the mid-week show.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 29 START TIME: UFC Fight Night 29 takes place Wednesday at Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The night kicks off with four prelims on FOX Sports 1 at 5 p.m. ET, followed by the six-fight main card at 7 p.m. ET.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 29 BACKGROUND: The UFC returns to Brazil for another FOX Sports 1 card after starting with two in the U.S. As is customary with the UFC’s shows in Brazil, each fight on the card features a Brazilian fighter. The event is topped by an important fight for Demian Maia (18-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC), who is unbeaten since dropping to welterweight. He’ll meet former title challenger and former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields (28-6-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in the main event. In the co-feature, Erick Silva (15-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC), who has won three straight bonus awards, looks to stay on track against Dong Hyun Kim (17-2-1 MMA, 8-2 UFC) in a welterweight contest.
