UFC Fight Night 101 weigh-in results: Brunson and Whittaker on point for main event

MELBOURNE, Australia – MMAjunkie was on scene and reporting live from today’s UFC Fight Night 101 fighter weigh-ins, where 23 of 24 fighters successfully made weight on their first attempt.

The festivities took place at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The same venue hosts Saturday’s event, which airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

A middleweight bout between Derek Brunson (16-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) and Robert Whittaker (16-4 MMA, 7-2 UFC) headlines the card. Both main eventers came in on or under the 186-pound limit.

The only fighter who missed weight on his first attempt was Yao Zhikui, who came in at 127 pounds. He was given two hours to cut one pound and make the official flyweight limit of 126 pounds. One hour later, he checked in on point to make the bout an official flyweight contest.
