UFC Fight Night 100 results: Krzysztof Jotko outgrapples Thales Leites for decision win

SAO PAULO – Most fighters don’t want to play the ground game with Thales Leites, Krzysztof Jotko welcomed it, however, and it earned him a clear unanimous decision victory.

The middleweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 100 event at Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo. It aired on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

Leites (26-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) got the kind of fight he wanted in Round 1, scoring a takedown off a Jotko (19-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) punch early. Jotko handled himself capably on the ground, spinning out of an armbar attempt to end the round on top.

In Round 2, Jotko’s smothering game led to another takedown and more time in top position where he appeared to start breaking Leites down. By the end of the round, both men appeared to fatigue badly, leading to Jotko’s corner to say Leites has one takedown attempt left in him between rounds.

Jotko took the fight to the floor again in Round 3, quickly moving to Leites’ half guard. Leites didn’t have the energy to explode to his feet and ate sweeping punches from Jotko as a result. The barrage by Jotko left Leites bleeding badly from his mouth as the fight came to a close.

Jotko is now riding a five-fight winning streak.
