NEW YORK – Raquel Pennington dominated her former “Ultimate Fighter” coach, Miesha Tate, to open the UFC 205 pay-per-view on Saturday. Then Tate pulled a stunner.
Tate (18-7 MMA, 5-4 UFC), the former women’s bantamweight champion, announced her retirement after dropping a unanimous decision to Pennington (9-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC).
The women’s bantamweight bout opened up the main card of today’s UFC 205 event at Madison Square Garden in New York. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
