Jimi Manuwa made a big statement at UFC 204, crushing Ovince Saint Preux with a left hook for a career-best knockout win.
The light heavyweight bout was part of the main card of UFC 204 at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. It aired pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Saint Preux (19-9 MMA, 7-4 UFC) handled himself well in Round 1, putting Manuwa (16-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) on his back and controlling the action on the ground. However, in the second round, Saint Preux appeared fatigued and left himself open to heavy shots from Manuwa. A heavy shot to the body followed by an overhand right took the senses of Saint Preux, a left hand put him to sleep. The referee called the fight off at the 2:38 mark of Round 2 as Saint Preux was on the mat with his leg folded underneath his body.
