UFC 171's Robbie Lawler interested in Nick Diaz rematch? 'One fight at a time'

So what if he beats Johny Hendricks and claims the UFC welterweight title? Would Robbie Lawler be open to a rematch with former foe Nick Diaz?

Lawler’s message is simple: Slow your roll, fight fans.

Lawler (22-9 MMA, 7-3 UFC), who fights for the vacant title against Johny Hendricks (15-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC 171 pay-per-view headliner, isn’t about to get ahead of himself. While his UFC 47 clash with Diaz from a decade ago remains a UFC classic, Lawler isn’t too worried about avenging the upset knockout loss. Besides, Diaz remains in retirement with no plans to return.

“The thing is, one fight at a time,” Lawler said. “I still have to fight in a day, so once again, focus. I have to be focused on Johny Hendricks. This guy knocks people out. I don’t think I should be worried about anything except for that guy.”

Check out the above video as Lawler also discusses an unusual amount of pre-fight excitement, knockout power, what (if anything) he fears in Hendricks, and more.
