NEWARK, N.J. – Saturday night’s UFC 169 event drew an announced attendance of 14,308 and a live gate of $1.651 million.

UFC President Dana White announced the figures at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended.

UFC 169 took place at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., and featured a bantamweight title fight between champion Renan Barao and Urijah Faber, plus a featherweight title fight between champ Jose Aldo and Ricardo Lamas at the top of the pay-per-view.

Both Brazilian titleholders defended their belts. Aldo got past Lamas with a unanimous decision of three 49-46 scores, while Barao stopped Faber with a first-round TKO.

The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board will verify the figures and is expected to release an official tally next week.

While the number of “comp” or free tickets was not revealed, the figures represent an average revenue of $115.39 per ticket issued.
