FOX Sports’ “Phantom Cam” is back with super slow-motion highlights from Saturday’s UFC 165 pay-per-view in Toronto.
The camera, which captures footage at around 5,000 frames per second, picked up more amazing fight footage at Air Canada Centre, including the main-event light heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson – a fight that already is being talked about as one of the greatest title bouts in UFC history.
In a five-minute war, Jones retained his title by unanimous decision – but the scores have been debated across social media by fans since Saturday night. Jones got a pair of 48-47 scores and a 49-46, but some observers scored the fight for Gustafsson. Both fighters needed trips to the hospital after the bout.
Also on the main card, Renan Barao retained his interim bantamweight title when he landed a spinning back kick to the face of Eddie Wineland, knocking him to the canvas, where he finished him on the ground. And Brendan Schaub put Matt Mitrione to sleep in their heavyweight bout.
Check out the video above for a unique look at Saturday’s card, which aired on pay-per-view and FOX Sports 1.
