14,754 spectators filled the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on Saturday for the UFC’s first event in the Canadian city, generating $3.15 million in gate receipts.
Former UFC light heavyweight titleholder Rashad Evans defeated former two-division Pride FC champion Dan Henderson by split decision in the main event.
Evans (18-3-1), who was knocked down in the opening round, rallied from behind to beat the MMA legend.
Stipe Miocic (10-1) put on an impressive display of boxing and movement in the co-main event against Roy Nelson. Miocic used his jab to keep Nelson at distance and repeatedly landed combinations and stinging right hands on his way to a unanimous decision victory over the top ten ranked Nelson.
Alexis Davis and Rosi Sexton made their promotional debut in the women’s bantamweight division on the fight card. Davis utilized her superior grappling to decision Sexton.
