UFC 152 Update: Cub Swanson-Charles Oliveira, Dan Miller-Sean Pierson Set for Toronto

Two more fights are now official for the UFC's return to Toronto, as promotion officials revealed Thursday that UFC 152 will feature a featherweight face-off between Cub Swanson and Charles Oliveira and a welterweight showdown pitting Dan Miller against Sean Pierson.

The Air Canada Centre will host the pay-per-view event, which will be headlined by a flyweight championship headliner between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson. In addition to crowning an inaugural 125-pound champion, the Sept. 22 show will also feature a middleweight co-main event between Michael Bisping and Brian Stann, as well as a welterweight confrontation between Rory MacDonald and B.J. Penn.

Swanson has performed impressively as of late, winning back-to-back fights heading into his showdown with Oliveira. The pupil of Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn earned technical knockouts over George Roop and Ross Pearson to kick off 2012, stopping his fellow WEC veteran in January before finishing “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 9 winner on June 22.

Like his foe, Oliveira also earned victories in January and June, submitting Eric Wisely with a slick calf-slicer at UFC on Fox 2 before catching Jonathan Brookins in a modified guillotine choke at the “TUF 15” finale. The 22-year-old former lightweight has finished 15 of his 16 career victims and has only been bested twice in his four-year pro career.

Miller, 31, recently earned a win in his first trip to 170 pounds, finishing Ricardo Funch with a third-round guillotine at UFC on FX 4. The victory followed back-to-back losses at middleweight for the New Jersey native, who was outpointed by Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares last year.

Pierson, 36, righted his ship on June 8 by outpointing Jake Hecht at UFC on FX 3. Prior to that win, “The Punisher” suffered a devastating knockout loss at the hands of Jake Ellenberger and a decision loss to Dong Hyun Kim to close out 2011.
