UFC 144 Results: Ryan Bader Decisions Rampage Jackson in Japan

Ryan Bader UFC 144Ryan Bader scored a unanimous decision win over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in their UFC 144 co-main event in Japan.

Bader controlled Rampage for three rounds, and judges saw the contest in his favor with 30-27 scores across the board.

Rampage took center-octagon early and did well to defend against Bader’s takedown attempts. Bader attempted his heavy right hand, but it didn’t find its mark in the opening round. Rampage finished out the first five-minute period with an effective combination.

In the second, Rampage picked his opponent, reminiscent of his days in Pride, and slammed Bader down to the mat. It appeared Bader’s head hit the canvas first, and as he got up he looked wobbly. But from there, Bader scored the takedown and controlled Jackson on the ground for the remainder of the round.

Round three had Bader getting another takedown and controlling Rampage on the ground. From side control, Bader hammered down on the former light heavyweight champion and transitioned to different positions, scoring points from different angles.

“Beating Rampage here in Japan is amazing,” Bader told Joe Rogan in his post-fight interview.

Bader now wins two in a row after losing the first two fights of his professional career, improving his record to 14-2. Jackson loses his second fight in a row and drops his record to 32-10.
