UFC 134 Rio: A Look Back at Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami’s First Fight

Everyone is getting amped up for Saturday night’s UFC return to Brazil. UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva squares off with No. 1 contender Yushin Okami in the UFC 134: Rio main event, but it’s not the first time the two have me.

Silva and Okami battled it out at Rumble on the Rock in Hawaii in early 2006.

Silva controlled most of the fight, but eventually ended up on his back with Okami in his guard. Okami had wanted the fight on the ground, but it didn’t end how he, or how Silva for that matter, expected. Most people by know the fight ended due to an illegal kick from Silva that resulted in his disqualification and Okami being awarded the victory.
