Tyron Woodley may have earned the next crack at the UFC welterweight championship with a second round stoppage of Carlos Condit in the UFC 171 co-main event.
The featured bout on Saturday’s fight card from Dallas’ American Airlines Arena saw Woodley (13-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Condit (29-8 MMA, 6-4 UFC) hook up in a significant clash of 170-pound contenders hoping for a crack at UFC gold.
“The Chosen One” certainly put on a performance that would make a strong case for a title shot, as he outstruck Condit before landing the fight-ending leg kick on his opponent’s injured knee.
