Travis Browne vs. Bigfoot Silva Headlines New UFC on FX 5 Card

Indianapolis’ loss is Minneapolis’ gain.

The UFC on FX 5 card originally scheduled for Sept in Indiana has now shifted to Oct 5 in Minnesota and two big heavyweights will be leading the way.

UFC officials announced on Friday that Travis Browne would face former Strikeforce heavyweight Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva at UFC on FX 5 now scheduled for the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Originally scheduled to fight at next weekend’s UFC on Fox 4 card, Travis Browne was pulled at the last minute when opponent Ben Rothwell was forced off the card with an ankle injury.

Now the Hawaiian who trains under coach Greg Jackson will look to extend his undefeated streak when he faces Silva in October.

Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva will hope for a better Octagon experience in his second trip to the UFC after a tough loss in his debut.

Silva stepped in on short notice to face former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez at UFC 146 in May and got bludgeoned with strikes, bloodied up and finished in the first round.

It was Silva’s second loss in a row overall so now the big Brazilian will look to get back on track when he faces Browne in October.

More fights for the upcoming UFC on FX 5 card will be announced in the coming weeks.
