Tom Breese's post-UFC Fight Night 76 plan? Move out of Tristar dorms

DUBLIN – Tom Breese could be enjoying some new digs after Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 76 victory.

Breese (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC), who calls Montreal’s famed Tristar Gym his current home, looked superb in his first-round TKO victory over fellow welterweight Cathal Pendred (17-4-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC). Breese simply overwhelmed Pendred with flush punches in the UFC Fight Pass-streamed bout at Dublin’s 3Arena:

After the event, the Englishman talked to reporters – a few hours before he learned he picked up a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his efforts.

“If I got the bonus, the first thing I’d do is invest it in my training, get high-level training and become a better fighter,” Breese said. “Also, maybe I’d like to get of the Tristar dorms.

“I live there, and I love it there, but it’d be good to get my own place.”

Breese began training at the gym in 2013, and for the past year, he’s lived in the gym’s not-so-luxurious dorms. The living arrangements have paid off, though; he’s 2-0 in the UFC, and all nine of career victories have come via stoppage (three knockouts and six submissions). So he has no plans to leave the gym – just the dorms.

The 24-year-old said he ultimately wants to follow in the footsteps of fellow countrymen Michael Bisping and Dan Hardy, the latter of whom fought for a title.

“I believe next time, I think it will be me,” he said. “I’ll be the next one, and I’ll be the big name, I believe.

“There’s a new wave coming. There’s a lot of great (English) talent.”
