Tim Moore Wants WSOF Global Flyweight Title So He Can Make Fighting a Full-Time Job

After starting off his career with four wins and four losses, Australian flyweight Tim “Quickdraw” Moore has managed to turn things around the past three years and has won six of his past seven fights.

Moore acknowledges his coaches and teammates for helping him get back on track and put together a four-fight winning streak he is currently on.

“Things have been pretty good lately. The credit for my current win streak definitely goes to my coach Vincent Perry and all my team at PUMMA on the Gold Coast,” Moore told MMAWeekly.com.

“Earlier in my career, we may have taken some fights I wasn’t ready for, but I feel if we picked and chose all my match-ups, I may have still been undefeated, but definitely wouldn’t be the martial artist I am today.”

After defending his Eternal MMA 125-pound championship in December, Moore has kept busy over the last several months teaching and developing his game.

“It’s been about six months since I last fought, although I’m in the gym almost every day teaching my kids program, Bright Child Body Intelligence Program, in Burleigh, which keeps my mind active,” said Moore.

“Every fight we have, our only goal besides winning is improving and being better than our last outing. I haven’t really had a chance to show the new skills I’ve been gaining in my last couple fights, so hopefully you’ll get to see some cool stuff in this next one.”

Moore (10-4) will get a chance to step out outside Australia when he takes on Yusaku Nakamura (12-4-1) in the first round of World Series of Fighting Global’s flyweight tournament on Saturday in Manilla, Philippines.

“I’m really excited to be facing Yusaku Nakamura. I feel he’s going to bring the best out of me,” Moore said. “He’s got lightning fast speed, but I feel we have enough tricks up our sleeve to get the job done. I think if I play my game, I’ll be able to get the victory.”

Should Moore get past Nakamura, he’ll challenge the winner of Larry Diguilio versus Marcel Adur for the WSOF Global 125-pound title possibly later this year.

“If things go our way in the Philippines on July 30th, it’s going to be the biggest honor fighting for their world title,” said Moore. “Hopefully, this will open some doors for me and I’ll be able to quit my day job and focus on training full time.”
