Tachi Palace Fights is moving swiftly to fill its newly vacant bantamweight title. Casey Olson faces Francisco Rivera at Tachi Palace Fights 13 on May 10 in Lemoore, Calif.
The bantamweight championship was wrapped around Ulysses Gomez’s waist, but the now-former champion vacated the belt to move down to the flyweight division, according to Tachi Palace official Jeremy Luchau.
The Olson vs. Rivera bout headlines Tachi Palace Fights 13.
Olson (14-3) is currently riding a three-fight winning streak. A popular fighter in Northern California, Olson most recently defeated Cody Gibson at TPF 12 in March. His most recent loss was about two years ago to Eddie Yagin, who will next fight at UFC 145 in April.
Rivera (7-2) is a UFC veteran. He lost to Reuben Duran at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale, but has since rebounded with back-to-back victories over Brad McDonald and Antonio Duarte under the Tachi banner.
A middleweight bout pitting Steve Ramirez vs. Mickey Martinez also dons the TPF 13 fight card.
