Former UFC welterweight Marcus Davis will get back in action in October when he fights on W-1 in Florida against former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ competitor Chuck O’Neil.
Sources close to the match-up confirmed the new fight to MMAWeekly.com on Friday.
The card takes place on Oct 15 in Florida as W-1 makes their U.S. debut.
Since exiting the UFC following a loss to Jeremy Stephens earlier this year, Davis has picked up wins in his last two bouts while competing under the MFC banner in Canada.
Now the Maine based fighter will try to pick up another win against a fellow ‘Ultimate Fighter’ veteran in October.
Well known during his time on the 13th season of the ‘Ultimate Fighter’, Chuck O’Neil got a reputation for being tough as nails, but he struggled to pull the trigger in his lone UFC bout, losing by decision to former housemate Chris Cope.
Now, O’Neil will try to get back to the Octagon when he faces a veteran fighter in Marcus Davis in Oct.
Davis actually has another fight booked in his home state of Maine prior to the bout in October, so he could be going for his 4th win in a row should he be successful later this month.
Davis vs. O’Neil will be a featured bout on a card headlined by two former UFC heavyweights as Gabriel Gonzaga takes on Jeff Monson in the main event.
