Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, after defeating Tim Elliott at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale on Saturday night, is one win away from tying Anderson Silva‘s 10-fight record for most UFC title defenses. Yet, he is still far from Conor McGregor‘s record $3 million payday for a fight, but he’s making strides.
Johnson netted a flat rate of $350,000 for Saturday’s victory over Elliott, which is well above his previous payday high of $195,000 at UFC 197. Elliott made $100,000 in his losing effort, after having made his way to the title fight via a tournament of champions on The Ultimate Fighter.
The next closest fighter to Johnson at the TUF 24 Finale was Joseph Benavidez, the No. 1 ranked flyweight in the UFC. He netted $140,000 for his victory over Henry Cejudo.
The Nevada Athletic Commission released The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale fighter salaries to MMAWeekly.com on Monday. The event took place on Saturday, Dec. 3, at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas.
