'TUF 23' tryouts seek male 205-pounders, female 135ers and 115ers

“TUF 20” tryouts

Upcoming tryouts for “The Ultimate Fighter” will include fighters – male and female – from three different weight classes.

Officials today announced an open call for male light heavyweights, as well as female bantamweights and strawweights, for “The Ultimate Fighter 23.”

The upcoming season of the 11-year-old series begins production in January, and the series is slated for an April debut on FOX Sports 1. Head coaches haven’t been announced.

As with past tryouts, the weight classes featured at the tryouts aren’t guaranteed to be the final divisions featured on the show. However, as with “TUF 18,” the show has featured coed casts in the past.

Tryouts take place Dec. 14 in Las Vegas.
