Casey Ryan vs. Paul Song

Round 1 - Song and Ryan begin the undercard trading shots on the feet.  Ryan trying hard for the takedown but isn’t able to get it.  Song is able to the ground but falls right into a triangle and taps early in the opening round!

Edgar Cardenas vs. Rolando Perez

Round 1 - Perez and Cardenas measure distance early before Perez clinches with his opponent against the cage.  He works from that position and delivers knees to Cardenas’ legs. A mid kick by Cardenas has his opponent catching it and putting him on his back.  From guard, Perez is working strikes and Cardenas is bloody in the nose.  Perez transitions to half guard, but Cardenas makes his way up.  Cardenas seems more aggressive on the feet now, getting in some clean strikes.  The round ends with Perez getting the advantage 10-9.

Round 2 - Round begins with Cardenas trying another mid kick with Perez putting on his back.  Perez works into full mount and Cardenas is in trouble.  Cardenas is able to reverse position and get back to the feet and out of trouble.  Both fighters are trading shots, but Perez seems to be getting the advantage.  Cardenas gets in a clean right hand before Perez takes his opponent down to the mat.  From top position, Perez is landing punches and softening up his opponent.  The round ends with Perez getting back to the feet, but Cardenas gets a closer round 10-9.

Round 3 - Cardenas comes out swinging in the third round, but Perez clinches.  Cardenas clearly senses some urgency here, but Perez is shorting the distance and clinching a lot early.  The gets to the mat and Perez works from guard.  Perez is on top of his opponent and working from there, but the referee stands them up.  Perez dealing with a little more offense from Cardenas and eats a few shots in the final minute of the third round before getting the fight back to the ground and striking from top position.  10-9 Perez.

Herman Terrado vs. A.J. Matthews

Round 1 - Terrado and Matthews start rough early and trade shots before Terrado eats a couple of knees from the clinch and the fight goes to the ground.  The two get back to the feet and Terrado has no answer for a full minute of knees from the clinch before eating a right hand.  More knees from Matthews wobble his opponent against the fence.  After separating, the Matthews looks a little dazed from eating another punch.  Terrado throws a massive punch from the feet and drops Matthews before finishing him on the ground via TKO.

Saad Awad vs. Joe Duarte

Round 1 - Awad and Duarte start out with a short flurry then Duarte pushes his opponent against the cage.  The separate and measure some distance for a bit before Duarte lands a clean right hand.  Duarte lands another huge right hand and Awad goes down.  Duarte jumps on top and works from guard to half guard, landing strikes from both positions.  Duarte stacks up Awad for a moment and jumps in with a big right hand.  Duarte gets full mount before getting his opponent’s back, but Awad gets back to the feet and turns on the offense for the rest of the round.  10-9 Duarte.

Round 2 - Round two begins with Duarte looking a little bit more winded.  Awad putting up some major offense now with punches in bunches to the face followed by a clinch with major knees.  Somehow, Duarte is able to get his opponent down and withstand the punishment.  Duarte gets full mount and works to get the armbar for the second round finish.

Brett Albee vs. Virgil Zwicker

Round 1 - Heavyweights Zwicker and Albee begin trading a combination of kicks and punches and Albee is a bit blood on the forehead.  Zwicker lands a clean punch then a spinning round house and it hurts Albee bad.  Zwicker smells blood and attacks, finishing his opponent in the first round.

Hiroyuki Takaya vs. Robert Peralta

Round 1 - Peralta and Takaya begin with Peralta throwing a low kick that lands, but has Takaya closing in for a clinch against the fence.  The two separate and Peralta lands another right low kick.  A brief exchange has neither fighter landing anything solid.  More low kicks by Peralta find their mark on Takaya’s lead leg.  A couple of brief clinches lead into the round’s final minute.  Takaya pushing forward finds him eating a counter left by Peralta and it drops him.  The round ends a short while later with Peralta taking it 10-9.

Round 2 – Peralta comes out in the second looking to land hard.  Takaya works hard to get the takedown against the fence, but his opponent shows some stiff defense.  Takaya is cut under his right eye, at this point.  At 1:52 into the round, Takaya gets the takedown he was looking for.  From half guard, Takaya works to get better position, but does little for offense and the referee stands them up.  Flying knee attempt by Peralta doesn’t land.  Now clinching against the cage, Peralta works in some short strikes and knees.  The round ends with a brief flurry and Peralta takes the round 10-9.

Round 3 – The third round starts with both fighters coming out aggressive and looking to land a knockout blow.  Peralta eats a counter by Takaya a short moment before getting taken down against the fence.  Takaya works for 45 seconds from guard before the referee stands them up.  Takaya keeps coming forward and works to get the clinch.  Peralta turns his opponent’s back to the fence and lands a few knees to the body.  Nice inside leg kick by Takaya after the fighters separate.  The round ends as the two fighters are clinched against the fence trading knees and body punches.
