Strikeforce Challengers returns to the Palms Casino in Las Vegas on Sept. 23 featuring a light heavyweight bout between Lorenz Larkin and Virgil Zwicker. Strikeforce Challengers 19 is scheduled to broadcast on live on Showtime at 11 p.m. ET with a tape delay on the West Coast.
Strikeforce officials announced the card on Wednesday afternoon.
“Larkin could be the next big thing at 205 pounds, but he faces a huge test in Zwicker on Sept. 23,” said Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker. “This fight is going to help propel one of them in the light heavyweight division.”
In addition to Larkin and Zwicker, Lavar Johnson will return to action against Shawn Jordan. A lightweight bout between Ryan Couture and Maka Watson will also be featured on the card.
“When you add in bouts like Johnson vs. Jordan and Couture vs. Watson, this is going to be a really solid card for the fans at the Palms,” Coker added.
UFC Fight Club members will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the event tomorrow, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m. PT until 12 p.m. PT. UFC Newsletter and Strikeforce Insider subscribers get next crack tomorrow starting at 12 p.m. PT.
