The ratings are in for Friday night’s Strikeforce Challengers 15 telecast on Showtime. Industry sources tell MMAWeekly.com that the show drew an audience of 214,000, which is right in line with the series’ average of 221,000.
The Challengers series, thus far, reached its peak with Strikeforce Challengers 7 at 316,000 viewers on one of Showtime’s freeview weekends. Showtime is an American premium channel that is typically available at an additional charge to cable and satellite television customers.
Challengers itself is a feeder show, sort of a minor leagues concept, for the Strikeforce fight promotion.
Strikeforce Challengers 15 was headlined by a dominant performance by Justin Wilcox, who stopped former lightweight title contender Rodrigo Damm by TKO after the first round. The ringside doctor recommended a halt to the fight following round one, feeling Damm was in no condition to continue.
