For a 24-year-old, the one thing that Stefan Struve doesn’t lack heading into his UFC 146 bout against Lavar Johnson on Saturday night is confidence. He’s got it in spades.
“I don’t think he’s got anything for me in this fight if I fight the way I can fight,” Struve said on Wednesday.
“He punches hard, but I think I punch just as hard as him. He’s gonna have to deal with my kicks and after he takes a couple of those… he might even want to take this fight to the ground.”
And that would be playing right into the youngster’s hands, since he has won 15 of his 23 victories by submission.
