The UFC’s latest Fan Expo continues to build its roster of fighters who will make official appearances for the promotion.
So far, more than 30 fighters, including several champions, have been booked for fan meet-and-greet and autograph sessions at the Expo, which takes place prior to July’s UFC 162 pay-per-view.
UFC 162 takes place July 6 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The UFC Fan Expo takes place July 5-6 at the nearby Mandalay Bay Convention Center. In addition, the UFC will have additional activities all week leading up to the card as part of this year’s “Fight Week.”
UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva again headlines this year’s Independece Day weekend card. In 2012, he defended his title at UFC 148 against Chael Sonnen in a rematch. This year, he’ll put his belt on the line against Chris Weidman.
The Fan Expo, as always, will feature exhibitor and merchandise booths, training sessions, Q&A sessions and competitions such as Grapplers Quest and a World of Wrestling event. But always one of the most popular activities for fans is the slate of autograph sessions with fighters.
The list of fighters confirmed to appear at the UFC’s official autograph booth this year includes welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, light heavyweight champ Jon Jones, heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez, women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey, lightweight titleholder Benson Henderson and bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.
In addition, UFC Hall of Fame members Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes have been announced, as has former champ and likely future Hall of Famer B.J. Penn, plus Forrest Griffin, who will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame at this year’s Expo.
Along with the announced appearances at the official UFC autograph area, dozens more fighters will do autograph sessions and fan meet-and-greets at exhibitor and sponsor booths over the course of the two-day Expo.
The announced list of fighters appearing at the UFC’s booth at the Fan Expo includes:
