Silva vs. Bisping: The Fight is Already On

On 27 February 2016 Michael Bisping will take on MMA legend Anderson Silva at UFC Fight Night 83, at the O2, in London. This fight will be amongst the most important of 37-year-old Bisping’s career, who has wanted to cross “The Spider” Silva for some time.

The faceoff between The Count and Anderson Silva has been years in the making and fans are ravenous to watch what is hailed to be the most epic fight of the year.

It goes without saying that the revelation following Silva’s fight against Nick Diaz – where they both tested positive for drug use –shed a different light on the former UFC middleweight champion.

Anderson Silva’s tests revealed steroids as well as oxazepam and temazepam, drugs prescribed for insomnia and anxiety. He denied knowingly taking any kind of steroids and asserted the test might have been contaminated by a sexual stamina medication. For the most part, Silva claimed his innocence, arguing he had “an impeccable career history and [he] wouldn’t want to tarnish [his] image.”

However according to Bisping, the chances are that the legend has been using performance enhancing drugs throughout his career and finally got caught:

“I don’t think that…having the career that Anderson Silva had, I don’t think you make the decision at 39 years old to try this new thing called steroids. I think he must have been on the juice the whole time,” said Bisping.

Even though Bisping recognizes Anderson Silva as one of the all time greatest, he has no problem reminding the MMA world that he is a cheater on social media:

Last week, things got seriously heated between the two fighters, as they saw each other during the open workouts in Los Angeles, adding up to the growing tension of the meet.
