Seth Petruzelli charges cage after Kimbo Slice's Bellator 138 win, gets blown off

ST. LOUIS – Seth Petruzelli, the man who first knocked out Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson in MMA, brought a temporary halt to the former bareknuckle fighter’s victory on Friday at Bellator 138.

The cageside brouhaha followed Slice’s Bellator 138 main event on Spike TV.

Slice (5-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) had just knocked out Ken Shamrock (28-16-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) in a back-and-forth barnburner for their reboot of an ill-fated meeting seven years ago (watch the Kimbo Slice vs. Shamrock video highlights).

In the video above, shot at St. Louis’ Scottrade Center, Petruzelli (14-8 MMA, 1-2 BMMA), wearing a golf hat, gets Slice’s attention, and the two begin having words.

“What you just saw is Kimbo called me out about three months ago, and then I f-cking answered his callout, and he doesn’t answer back to me, and now he just does the exact same thing right here,” Petruzelli, who knocked out Slice seven years ago as a replacement when Shamrock suffered a cut warming up for “EliteXC: Heat,” told MMAjunkie.

As you can see in the clip, Slice didn’t give Petruzelli the time of day. And after the fight, things didn’t change much.

Asked at the post-event press conference if he heard what Petruzelli had said, Slice told MMAjunkie, “No.” Asked if he was interested in a fight, he deadpanned, “No.”

Although Petruzelli retired in 2013, he is now more adamant than ever that a rematch needs to happen.

“I was saying let’s go Round 2 – let’s go two fights, man,” he said. “Everybody says it’s a f-cking fluke, so let’s go again. I’m sick of everyone telling me it was lucky. It wasn’t lucky. I’ll show everybody it wasn’t. That’s what pissed me off is that he calls me out, and now he doesn’t even want to acknowledge me.”

Slice seemed a little bit more game in January, when he gave an interview on “The MMA Hour.”

“I owe that dude one,” Slice said. “The nature of it, I could complain all day long on this and that, but sh-t, it just went down the way it went down, but goddamn I owe him one.”

Now, Petruzelli would like him to pay up.

“I would make him tap twice,” he said. “I’ll submit him this time. I don’t care.”
