Ryan Bader Injured; James Te Huna Steps in to Face Glover Teixeira at UFC 160

Ryan Bader has withdrawn from UFC 160 due to injury, and as a result, James Te Huna will take his place against Glover Teixeira on the May 25 card.

UFC officials announced the change on Monday. UFC 160 takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a heavyweight title clash between Cain Velasquez and Antonio Silva.

The hard-hitting Te Huna has been on a roll of late, winning four straight bouts in the Octagon since a submission loss to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 127. Most recently, the Pirtek Athletic Allstars representative earned a unanimous verdict over Ryan Jimmo at UFC on Fuel TV 7. Te Huna has finished 13 of his 16 career victories by knockout or submission.

Teixeira will carry an 18-bout winning streak into his matchup with the New Zealand native. The 33-year-old Brazilian made his highly-anticipated Octagon debut at UFC 146, submitting Kyle Kingsbury with a triangle choke 1:53 into the opening frame. Teixeira continued his momentum at UFC 153, defeating Fabio Maldonado via doctor stoppage. The WEC veteran earned the most significant victory of his career to date when he took a unanimous decision against Quinton Jackson in January at UFC on Fox 6.
