Veteran fighter and recent UFC competitor Rosi Sexton (13-4) will meet top prospect Joanna Jedrzejczyk (5-0) at the upcoming “Cage Warriors 69: Super Saturday” event.
Cage Warriors officials today announced the flyweight bout while also confirming a planned bout between featherweights Liam James (8-6) and Nad Narimani (7-1) has been canceled after both fighters suffered injuries.
Cage Warriors 69 takes place June 7 at The Forum in London. “Super Saturday” features two main cards, which stream live and free in North America on MMAjunkie. Preliminary-card bouts stream on Facebook after additional untelevised prelims.
Sexton, who won a Cage Warriors title back in 2005, returns to the organization for the first time since June 2012. After an 8-1 run that also included fights with Bellator and EliteXC, Sexton signed with the UFC despite needing to move up a weight class. She suffered decision losses to Alexis Davis and Jessica Andrade and received her pink sleep. However, she now returns to the organization that got her pro career jumpstarted and where she owns a 6-0 record.
The 36-year-old now takes on fast-rising Polish prospect Jedrzejczyk. The 26-year-old turned pro in 2012 and now makes her promotional debut following a May 9 decision victory over Karla Benitez (11-6 at the time).
