Ronda Rousey Hate Continues: Donald Trump, Lady Gaga Take Shots at Fallen Champ

Ronda Rousey's mentions are probably looking pretty rough right about now.

Rousey, who was unceremoniously and undeniably dethroned by Holly Holm at UFC 193, has been the subject of online Twitter mockery since the moment she hit the canvas Saturday night, losing her undefeated record, famous swagger and UFC women's bantamweight title in the process.

Two heavyweights of the social media world weighed in Sunday. First, singer Lady Gaga cheered Rousey's loss, apparently for the ex-champ's lack of sportsmanship in the moments before she and Holm locked up. Then, it was former reality TV star and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's turn.

Sunday evening, Trump took to Twitter to air his concerns. 

Glad to see that @RondaRousey lost her championship fight last night. Was soundly beaten - not a nice person!

This may be hard to believe, but Trump's comments should probably be taken with a grain of salt. This summer, Trump proclaimed Rousey "likes me" as a candidate—a claim Rousey quickly shot down. And just last week, Rousey threw her weight behind Democrat Bernie Sanders as her favorite presidential candidate.

Early Sunday morning, shortly after Holm defeated Rousey, Gaga posted on her Instagram account (h/t Damon Martin of Fox Sports), noting "that's what you get for not touching gloves!" That's a clear reference to Rousey's refusal to touch gloves with Holm, a common display of pre-fight decorum.

Rousey has long faced criticism from fans, fighters and pundits for a perceived sense of arrogance or poor sportsmanship. That may be part of the reason why fellow fighters Miesha Tate and Cristiane Justino, among others, were positively gleeful after the fight, and why memes and fan comments were all over social media following the big upset.

Rousey (12-1) has made no public statement since the defeat. She was taken to the hospital for stitches after the fight and was not available for the post-fight news conference. She has conducted no interviews or posted on any social platform since.

UPDATE: Later Sunday evening, Rousey broke her silence, saying she was fine but wanted to "take a little bit of time" before returning to competition.
