Rodrigo Damm vs. Ivan Jorge added to UFC Fight Night 36 in Brazil

There will be a Damm-Batman sighting in Brazil in February.

Brazilians Rodrigo Damm (11-6 MMA, 2-1 UFC) and Ivan Jorge (25-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC), better known as “Batman,” have been booked for a lightweight fight at UFC Fight Night 36. UFC officials announced the fight on Monday night.

UFC Fight Night 36 takes place Feb. 15 at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil. Featuring a middleweight headliner between Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi, the card airs on FOX Sports 1 and streams on MMAjunkie.com. The night’s bout order has yet to be revealed.

Damm has won two of three since signing with the UFC, including a “Submission of the Night” win in his debut against Anistavio Medeiros. That victory came after his appearance on the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil.” He dropped a split decision to Antonio Carvalho at UFC 154 a little more than a year ago, but bounced back in June with a split call over Mizuto Hirota. The fight against countryman Jorge will be his third of four in the UFC to take place in his home nation of Brazil.

Jorge debuted in the UFC in September with a unanimous decision win over veteran Keith Wisniewski in a welterweight fight. But against Damm, “Batman” moves back to lightweight. Jorge had won 10 of 11 fights, with all 10 victories coming by submission, until he had to go the distance against Wisniewski. It will be nearly two and a half years since his most recent loss when he steps in the cage against Damm.
