Check out highlights from Ricky Simon’s inexplicable TKO win over Merab Dvalishvili at UFC Fight Night 128 on Saturday in Atlantic City, N.J. Dvalishvili never tapped out during the fight, the referee never stopped the fight before the final bell, but somehow the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board rendered it a TKO victory for Simon. Dvalishvili would have won a split decision had it gone to the scorecards.
Following a busy stretch in April, after Saturday night’s event in Atlantic City, the UFC is taking a bit of a break.
The MMA juggernaut is off for the next two weeks, returning for UFC 224 on May 12 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In addition to Amanda Nunes putting her women’s bantamweight belt on the line against Raquel Pennington, UFC 224 also features Jacare Souza squaring off against Kelvin Gastelum in the a middleweight co-main event, plus a Brazil vs. Brazil showdown between former UFC champions Vitor Belfort and Lyoto Machida.
