Reza Madadi vs. Norman Parke moved to UFC Fight Night 76 co-main event

The lightweight bout between Reza Madadi and Norman Parke scheduled for UFC Fight Night 76 has been promoted to the co-main event slot in the wake of Stipe Miocic’s injury and the subsequent removal of his originally scheduled co-main event opponent Ben Rothwell.

The change to the card was announced on the UFC Fight Pass official Twitter account.

UFC Fight Night 76 takes place Oct. 24 at 3Arena in Dublin. The entire card is expected to stream on UFC Fight Pass. The show will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Ireland native Joseph Duffy – the last man to beat Conor McGregor – and Dustin Poirier.

Madadi (13-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will be looking to build on his April 2013 d’arce choke win over Michael Johnson when he faces Parke (20-4-1 MMA, 4-2-1 UFC). Madadi was released by the UFC in August 2013, following a conviction for his alleged role in a burglary at a high-end handbag store. Prior to his stint in prison, Madadi had been on an 8-2 run.

Parke, who will be fighting in front of his Irish countrymen, kicked off his UFC career with a five-fight unbeaten run, amassing a 4-0-1 record over that time. His last two bouts have not gone his way as the fighter has dropped back-to-back split decisions to Gleison Tibau and Francisco Trinaldo.
