Reminder: 'Countdown to UFC 189: Mendes vs. McGregor' debuts tonight

We’re now in the homestretch for Saturday’s big pay-per-view event, and we can preview it tonight with the debut of “Countdown to UFC 189.”

The half-hour special debuts at 8:30 p.m. ET (5:30 p.m. PT) on FOX Sports 1. Replays air throughout the week, and MMAjunkie will have an online streaming option on Monday morning.

UFC 189 takes place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The main card airs on PPV following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

“Countdown” previews the event’s championship co-headliners: Conor McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) vs. Chad Mendes (17-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) for an interim featherweight title, and welterweight champion Robbie Lawler (25-10 MMA, 10-4 UFC) vs. Rory MacDonald (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC).
