Reminder: 'Countdown to UFC 163' debuts tonight on FUEL TV

As a reminder, the UFC’s traditional pre-event show returns tonight with the debut of “Countdown to UFC 163: Aldo vs. Korean Zombie” on FUEL TV.

The one-hour special previews the card’s headlining featherweight title fight between current champ Jose Aldo (22-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) and his challenger, “The Korean Zombie,” Chan Sung Jung (13-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC).

The show debuts at 11 p.m. ET (8 p.m. PT) and is also expected to look at a handful of other key matchups on the card. Replays air throughout the week on FUEL TV and FOX Sports Net affiliates.

UFC 163 takes place Saturday at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.

Jung initially was slated to fight fellow contender Ricardo Lamas at UFC 162 but the bout was scratched when planned UFC 163 headliner Anthony Pettis was forced to drop out of the event due to injury. A former WEC contender, Jung is undefeated since his move over to the UFC. The Korean fighter has topped Leonard Garcia, Mark Hominick and Dustin Poirier under the UFC banner. The bout with Poirier, which earned “Fight of the Year” awards, came in May 2012 and marks his most recent appearance.

Aldo, meanwhile, is riding a 15-fight win streak that includes eight straight WEC/UFC title defenses. He’s looked downright dominant as he’s breezed through one notable challenger after another. His UFC title defenses have come over the likes of Hominick, Kenny Florian, Chad Mendes and Frankie Edgar.

The full UFC 163 card includes:

MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET)

PRELIMINARY CARD (FX, 8 p.m. ET)

PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook, 6:30 p.m. ET)
