Herb Dean and Steve Mazzagatti will officiate the trio of title fights at Saturday’s WSOF 10 event.
During Tuesday’s Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing, the fights were assigned to the veteran referees.
WSOF 10 takes place at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The main card airs on NBC Sports Network following prelims on MMAjunkie.
Dean will oversee the headlining title fight between David Branch (13-3) and Jesse Taylor (27-9), who fight for the organization’s inaugural middleweight belt. The judges will be Doug Crosby, Roy Silva and Glenn Trowbridge.
Dean also oversee a title fight between women’s strawweight champion Jessica Aguilar (17-4) and challenger Emi Fujino (13-7). The judges are Adalaide Byrd, Cardo Urso and Trowbridge.
Mazzagatti, meanwhile, will officiate the co-headlining bout between featherweight titleholder Georgi Karakhanyan (23-3-1) and Rick Glenn (14-2). Lester Griffin, Junichiro Kamijo and Urso are the judges.
Both officials are frequently used for the sport’s high-profile bouts.
As reported on Tuesday, Dean also will oversee UFC 175‘s headliner between middleweight champion Chris Weidman (11-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) and challenger Lyoto Machida (21-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC)on July 5 in Las Vegas. Yves Lavigne will officiate the co-headliner between women’s bantamweight titleholder Ronda Rousey (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) meets and Alexis Davis (16-5 MMA, 3-0 UFC).
