Ramsey Nijem vs. James Vick joins UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 in Boston

james-vick.jpgA stacked UFC on FOX Sports 1 debut has another addition with a lightweight bout between Ramsey Nijem (7-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and James Vick (4-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

UFC officials announced the bout overnight.

UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 takes place Aug. 17 at TD Garden in Boston and marks the promotion’s debut on the new cable network, which launches the same day. The main card airs on FOX Sports 1, though broadcast plans for the preliminary card haven’t been announced.

Nijem vs. Nick likely will be part of the prelims.

Nijem, “The Ultimate Fighter 13? runner-up, successfully rebounded after his tournament-final loss to Tony Ferguson. He then posted three straight victories through late 2011 and 2012, but in his first fight of this year, he suffered a violent second-round knockout loss to Myles Jury at UFC on FOX 7.

The fan favorite looks to get back in the win column against Vick, a semifinalist on “TUF 15.” The UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 bout marks his official UFC debut since the lanky 6-foot-3 fighter wasn’t medically cleared to fight at the TUF 15 Finale. He brings with him a perfect 4-0 record on the regional scene that included three stoppages.
