A middleweight matchup between Rafael “Sapo” Natal (16-4-1 MMA, 4-2-1 UFC) and “The Ultimate Fighter 17? contestant Tor Troeng (16-4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is the latest addition to September’s UFC on FOX Sports 1 3 event in Brazil.
UFC officials today announced the new contest, one of several to be added to the card.
UFC on FOX Sports 1 3 takes place Sept. 4 at Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It will be the UFC’s second visit to the city after first visiting for UFC 147 in 2012.
Natal debuted in 2010 and went winless in his first two octagon appearances. However, he’s since bounced back with four wins in his past five appearances, including wins over Joao Zeferino , Sean Spencer, Michael Kuiper and Paul Bradley sandwiched around a knockout loss to Andrew Craig.
Meanwhile, Troeng was a member of Team Sonnen on “TUF 17? but was ousted in the first round after suffering a knockout loss to Josh Samman. He was invited to fight in his native Sweden at April’s UFC on FUEL TV 9 event, where he scored a first-round submission win over Adam Cella. Troeng now boasts an official five-fight win streak.
