RFA champ Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger steps in against Tecia Torres at UFC 194

Tecia Torres has a new opponent for UFC 194.

Torres (6-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) was originally slated to face Michelle Waterson (13-4 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at the event, but an injury forced Waterson off the event. Stepping in on late notice is former RFA strawweight champion Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger (6-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who will be making her octagon debut.

The bout was confirmed on the UFC’s official website.

UFC 194 takes place Dec. 12 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Jones-Lybarger is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, all in the RFA cage. She made her professional debut at Invicta FC 2, winning a decision over Cheryl Chan. In her most recent fight, Jones-Lybarger captured gold when she dominated Zoila Frausto over five rounds at RFA 31.

Torres is the No. 12 ranked fighter in the NOS Energy Drink MMA strawweight rankings. Though she only has six fights on her professional ledger, Torres holds wins over several prominent names, including Felice Herrig, Rose Namajunas and is the only fighter to defeat rising UFC superstar Paige VanZant.
