BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Resurrection Fighting Alliance returns to the Mile High City for Friday’s RFA 11: Manzanares vs. Makovsky at the 1stBank Center.
RFA has become a leading supplier of talent to the UFC. Several fighters have used the promotion to springboard into the Octagon, Brandon Thatch and Sergio Pettis being two of the most notable.
Friday night’s main eventers – Matt Manzanares and Zach Makovsky – are vying for the vacant RFA flyweight championship, which would position the winner as a likely future recruit for the UFC.
Manzanares and Makovsky easily made weight on Thursday night; each registering 124.6 pounds on the scale.
Heading up the co-main event is UFC veteran Tyler Toner, who is trying to fight his way back into the Octagon. He weighed in at 146 pounds for his featherweight bout with undefeated Brazilian standout Raoni Barcelos.
Also featured on the card is the smaller, but older brother of UFC middleweight contender Lyoto Machida. Chinzô Machida weighed 145.5 pounds for his bout with Brian Wood, who tipped the scale at 144 pounds.
The RFA 11 main card airs live on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Friday night.
