We’ve had a couple days to wrap our heads around what went down Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 95 in Brazil.
We saw some memorable bonus-winning stoppages. We saw some ho-hummers. And we saw Roy Nelson (22-13 MMA, 9-9 UFC) knock out Antonio Silva (19-10-1 MMA, 3-7-1 UFC) in the second round – then take out some frustration on veteran referee John McCarthy by push-kicking him in the butt and flipping him the bird for what he thought was a stoppage that came way too late for his liking, giving he was hammering his right hand into his friend’s face.
In the main event, Cristiane Justino (17-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) took out Lina Lansberg (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) with a second-round TKO in her second UFC fight, and her first UFC headliner. It was what we expected of the heavy favorite, but now we’re left wondering what will be next for her, given she maintains she can’t get to 135 pounds, and the UFC doesn’t have a 145-pound division for her.
Now you can take a look back at Saturday’s card, which took place at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia, through the lens of USA TODAY Sports photographer Jason Silva.
Above, check out 50 of the best images from all 13 fights on the card – including Nelson battering Silva and a nice handful of blood.
