It appears Friday’s “ONE FC 12: Warrior Spirit” headliner was doomed from the start.
Originally expected to crown the organization’s inaugural welterweight champion, the title plans were scrapped when an injury recently forced Adam Kayoom out of a fight with Nobutatsu Suzuki. And now, prior to today’s official weigh-ins, Kayoom’s replacement, Vitor Pinto, wasn’t medically to compete, and the bout was scrapped together.
That means a 135-pound catchweight fight between Adriano Moraes and Yusup Saadulaev, who both weighed 134 pounds, have taken over the main-event slot of Friday’s event, which takes place at Putra Indoor Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. ONE FC 12 streams via online pay-per-view in North America.
All other fighters successfully made weight.
