New UFC champ Holly Holm gets call to appear on 'LIVE with Kelly and Michael'

In the wake of Holly Holm’s stunning knockout of Ronda Rousey to capture the UFC women’s bantamweight championship, many fans were questioning the lack of mainstream hype for the new champion.

That may be changing, however, with the announcement Holm (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) will appear on the popular morning talk show “LIVE with Kelly and Michael” this coming Monday, Nov. 23.

While Holm appeared on “Good Morning America” the Monday after her historic victory over Rousey (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) in Melbourne, Australia, that interview was pre-recorded. The appearance on “LIVE” will be in-studio and on the same show as some entertainment heavyweights.

Appearing the same day as Holm are music superstar and judge on “The Voice,” Pharrell Williams, and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” star Jena Malone.

It’s unlikely that Holm will reach the same level of mainstream stardom of the previous champion, but this is a big step up in publicity for the new queen of the bantamweight division.
