Movies next for UFC 194's Conor McGregor? 'Hollywood is screaming for me'

Don’t be surprised to see Conor McGregor on the silver screen some time in the near future.

Although his featherweight title-unification showdown with champ Jose Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) at UFC 194 is just around the corner, interim titleholder McGregor (18-2 MMA, 6-0 UFC) said his upcoming ventures could soon expand beyond MMA.

“The Notorious” said he would like to follow in the footsteps of famed ex-UFC champ Ronda Rousey and parlay his success as a pro fighter into opportunities in the field of acting.

McGregor recently said the offers are already pouring in, and it might not be long before he gets to show his acting chops to the world.

“I’d like to collect in action movies going forward,” McGregor said during a recent media call. “You know, just here today these director guys coming to the house on some Vin Diesel thing. Hollywood is screaming for me, yes, so we’ll see what happens in the future.”

UFC 194 takes place Saturday at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. Aldo vs. McGregor headlines the pay-per-view main card following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

McGregor is already one of the most well known fighters in the sport, but a victory over long-reigning Aldo would help him reach another level. The Brazilian hasn’t lost in more than 10 years and is the only 145-pound champion in UFC history.

Taking out Aldo will be no easy feat, but McGregor said he’s mentally prepared to succeed in the fight just as he’s prepared to tackle any other tasks ahead, and that includes acting.

“Winners focus on winning, and losers focus on winners,” McGregor said. “So I’m a winner. I focus on winning. I entered that promotion as a winner, as a two-weight world champion, focused on winning, and that’s it.”
