Michael Bisping: Alan Belcher's ridiculous comedy act won't help him in the Octagon (Yahoo! Sports)

This is the last week of hard training before next Saturday’s UFC 159 clash with Alan “The Talentless” Belcher. This is the week I really push myself, and then I pretty much just tick over fight week. If you get to fight week and are worried about needing to do more work, you are in big trouble.

Speaking of big trouble, Belcher is in deep. He’s been shooting his mouth off, spraying everyone within earshot with BS, and he’s going to get beat up come April 27. He’s been saying what a big-mouth I am, that I am overrated as a fighter, that I’ve never fought anyone, that I don’t hit hard – all the Greatest Hits from my previous opponents.

It is getting a little tedious, to be honest. He's insulting the fans’ intelligences if he thinks they won’t just compare his record to mine. Just to save you the effort, here’s some fast facts which show that Belcher isn’t paying attention and doesn’t know what he is on about.

He's got nine KOs to his name, with only four in the UFC. Of those four, only one – a great KO over Jorge Santiago way back in 2006 – was a one-strike KO. So I don’t understand how he thinks he’s fooling anyone by talking about how he’s this one-punch KO artist.

I’ve got 14 career stoppages, eight in the UFC. I know you have to take off your socks and shoes in order to count higher than 10, but, trust me, 14 and eight are MORE than nine and four, Alan. Plus, BEATING guys like Jason Day and Yoshihiro Akiyama is better than LOSING to them.

I’ve never mentioned Belcher’s name unless it was brought up to me because he’d been calling me out. But again, he thinks MMA fans are stupid. He thinks they haven't noticed the fact that he has been doing all the smack talk. He actually put in his last blog that I’m not doing as much smack-talking and jokes as I normally do, which is a contradiction, but whatever.

The fact is, I’m not doing as many interviews for this fight because the media doesn’t care about an Alan Belcher fight. However, I speak my mind, and if I can entertain myself and a section of the fans who like straight-talking while throwing in a witty line or two during interviews, then I will.

Alan Belcher isn’t the man to make me break the habit of a lifetime and stop me from saying exactly what is on my mind. But now that we are a week from the fight, it is time to get serious. Belcher is trying to create headlines by posting stupid videos and making silly bets. His videos aren’t funny, and all Alan is doing is making a joke of himself, without any help from me.

I’m sure everyone over at Team Belcher were laughing and hooting when these videos were posted… which I’m happy about for their sake as they seem to be the only people who’ve bothered to watch them.

I’m in a horrible mood, and I’ve been in one for days now. I want to thank my coaches and sparring partners for putting up with me. I’m in a mood to destroy this guy and that Belcher thinks this is a big circus act makes me want to beat him that much more.

I just want to add that Jason Miller (during TUF) and Jorge Rivera tried all this, acting like circus clowns before a fight, trying to get under my skin, and both of them got a career-shortening beating as well as making themselves look like idiots.

All of this has just given me motivation to kick Belcher’s arse. I’m glad he’s doing those dumb videos and trying to bring more attention to the fight. The more eyeballs that see me slap this guy around, the better it is for my career.

Until next week, hit me up on Twitter @bisping.
