UFC lightweight Danny Castillo of Team Alpha Male stops by to talk about being on the two cancelled cards in UFC history, gains he’s made in his game such as choking out a jiu-jitsu black belt in Brazil after his last fight, guiding younger fighters on his team with sobriety and hard work, and fighting “The Ultimate Fighter” 14 winner Tony Ferguson at UFC 177.

“I think I’m better than [Tony] Ferguson,” Castillo told Majority Draw Radio. “He’s ranked ahead of me but I don’t see why. I’m an 18 fight veteran with Zuffa. Like this kid has five fights. Sure he’s tough but the last guy he knocked out. Are you kidding me? The guy’s hands are down. You’ll knock that guy out. You lock me in the cage with some guy with his hands down I guarantee I’ll win KO.

“I’m not taking anything away from the dude. He’s tough. There’s a lot of things I need to worry about. He’s got a great d’arce choke. He’s got clean boxing. He’s rangy. He’s tough.  But I think everyone forgets I have 10 fights in the UFC. I’ve been around for a long time for a reason. It just happens to be I’m from Team Alpha Male and it’s hard to shine in a fucking camp full of stars. There’s a bunch of good guys there, but I’ve got the most fights on the team in Zuffa.
