The day of matchmaking for the UFC didn’t slow down on Thursday with another match-up being announced pitting Mackens Semerzier against Mike Lullo on Sept 17 on the UFC Fight Night: Shields vs. Ellenberger fight card.
UFC officials announced the new bout via Twitter.
Following three losses in a row to close out his WEC career, Mackens Semerzier (6-3) wasted no time making an impression for his UFC debut. Semerzier blasted through former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ competitor Alex Caceres at UFC Fight Night 24, finishing the fight by rear naked choke in the first round.
Semerzier will try to make it two in a row when he returns in September in New Orleans.
Mike Lullo (8-3) will drop down to featherweight after taking his first fight in the UFC at lightweight back in Nov 2010. Lullo ran into a buzzsaw named Edson Barboza Jr. who cracked him with leg kicks to the point where the fight had to be stopped.
Now at 145lbs, Lullo will look for a better go round the second time in the Octagon in Sept.
