Nine-time UFC veteran David Loiseau will defend his Tachi Palace Fights middleweight title for the first time against Brazilian “Arm Collector” Giva Santana at TPF 10 “Let the Chips Fall.” Sherdog.com learned of the matchup Monday from Tachi Palace Events Coordinator Jeremy Luchau.

Set to take place Aug. 5 at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif., TPF 10 will be headlined by a flyweight title tilt between newly crowned ace Darrell Montague and top contender Ian McCall. Two other 125-pound scraps have been signed for the event, as world-rankers Jussier da Silva and Mamoru Yamaguchi will clash, and former champ Ulysses Gomez will take on unbeaten prospect Drew Bittner.

Loiseau, 31, claimed Tachi gold on Feb. 18, when he halted Leopoldo Serao in the fifth round of their bout at TPF 8. The experienced “Crow” has alternated wins and losses in his last four outings, topping Serao and journeyman Chester Post while losing to Ed Herman and Mario Miranda inside the Octagon. The Montreal native’s 20-10 ledger includes 13 knockouts and three submissions.

True to his nickname, Santana has secured 13 of his 15 career victories via tap out, 12 of those coming by way of armbar. In fact, between 2005 and 2008, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt rattled off 10 straight armbar victories. That streak was snapped when Santana incurred the lone loss on his record, a split decision against hard-nosed scrapper Jaime Jara under the EliteXC banner. The Team Oyama representative has since finished four straight opponents, most recently armbarring Anthony Ruiz in November.
