Light Heavyweights with Iron Chins Win Fight of the Night (TUF 24 Finale Fighter Bonuses) | MMAWeekly.com

The UFC returned to Las Vegas for The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale that featured Demetrious Johnson defending his UFC flyweight title against TUF 24 winner Tim Elliot. But at the end of the night, a couple of fighters who don’t have quite the notoriety that D.J. does ended up grabbing the spotlight and the boss’ attention.

Light heavyweights Jared Cannonier and Ion Cutelaba traded blows for a full 15 minutes of action, bringing cheers from the crowd and bonuses from the UFC. Connonier and Cutelaba put on the Fight of the Night to earn an extra $50,000 each, as well as a Twitter reaction from UFC President Dana White himself.

The Performance of the Night bonuses went to Sara McMann and Anthony Smith for their victories at the TUF 24 Finale.

McMann showed she’s eager to get back in women’s bantamweight title contention with her defeat of Alexis Davis via second-round submission. The win was her second in a row. 

Smith brought some attention to the preliminary card with his showcasing against Elvis Mutapcic. With a well-placed elbow, Smith earned a second-round finish and the other POTN bonus.
