Famed MMA trainer and former fighter Shawn Tompkins has passed away.
Tompkins’ manager Gary Ibarra from AMR Group confirmed his passing to MMAWeekly.com on Sunday.
Tompkins was 37 years old.
While details are few and far between, Tompkins was in Canada and passed away on Saturday night.
Tompkins was one of the most legendary trainers in all of mixed martial arts, bringing several fighters to prominence over the years including Sam Stout, Chris Horodecki and many others.
A former coach in the International Fight League, Tompkins led Team Tompkins for many years, coaching some of the best in the sport to title runs and contender’s spots.
